OUR FACILITIES

The learning and teaching facilities in Laurelhill Community College are of an excellent standard, they include: an assembly hall with stage, medical room, a counselling room, dedicated spaces for Special Educational Needs and Careers, seven computer suites, five science laboratories and thirty five teaching rooms including – twenty six whole class teaching, six for Design & Technology and three for Home Economics.

In addition there is also a Sixth Form Centre and Library, a one hundred and seventy seated canteen, a large indoor Sports Hall and a music and drama suite. The building has been adapted for disabled access and meets current DDA Legislation.

Our sports facilities are also of an excellent standard, they include: two full size grass 11 a side football pitches; one 9 a side grass football pitch; two 7 a side grass football pitches; one 12 a side grass rugby pitch; an outdoor twenty one piece gym and an outdoor multi-purpose floodlit synthetic surface with changing facilities.

Exciting New 3G Pitch Facility

We are delighted to announce that our brand-new FIFA-certified 3G pitch at the Sports Zone is now complete and officially ready for use. This state-of-the-art facility marks a major milestone for Laurelhill Community College and our commitment to providing first-class sporting opportunities for our students.

Sport continues to play a central role in daily school life, and this new pitch will significantly enhance the PE experience for all pupils. Head of PE, Mr Watson, shared his excitement once again:

“This facility has been long overdue. It will have a hugely positive impact on the physical and mental wellbeing of our pupils and will further raise the standard of football provision within the school. We are proud to maintain our IFA Gold School status, and to be the only school in Lisburn with a facility of this quality.”

The new 3G pitch will not only benefit our school community but will also support the wider Lisburn area, offering an outstanding training space for local clubs and groups.
